MSFC symposium at UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. –NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Director Patrick Scheuermann will be headlining the American Astronautical Society (AAS) Wernher von Braun Symposium in two weeks. The symposium is being held at the University of Alabama at Huntsville in cooperation with MSFC from October 15-18. Former NASA MSFC Director and current NASA Associate Administrator Robert Lightfoot will also be attending. Lightfoot will be giving the keynote address following Scheuermann on October 15th. Scheuermann is the former director of Stennis Space Center. Scheuermann was appointed the MSFC Director position last month. The symposium features panels on NASA’s human space exploration plans both from the agency’s and industry’s perpectives, space launch and commercial space, robotice and human exploration, trends in U.S. engineering education, and space policy on October 16-17. There will be a tour of the United Launch Alliance’s production facility in Decatur, Ala. on October 18th. (Source: Space Policy Online, 10/04/12) Previous
